PRACTICE RESPONSE TO CORONAVIRUS (COVID 19) PANDEMIC

In response to the Coronavirus Pandemic we have put measures in place to ensure we can adhere to current social distancing guidelines and reduce the risk of infection to our patients and staff.  


We ask for your patience and understanding during these unprecedented circumstances.


PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE SURGERIES FOR ANY REASON

(Unless by pre-arranged appointment or if advised to do so by one of our clinicians)


FROM THE 15th JUNE 2020 WE ASK THAT ALL PATIENTS ATTENDING THE SURGERY TO PLEASE WEAR A FACE COVERING OR MASK

(Please attend with your own face mask or covering wherever possible)


WE HAVE SET UP A DOCTOR-LED TRIAGE SYSTEM WHICH WILL BE IN EFFECT ON A DAILY BASIS

(All book on the day appointments will be triaged by telephone by one of our doctors)


ALL APPOINTMENTS MUST BE BOOKED BY TELEPHONE OR USING THE ONLINE APPOINTMENT BOOKING SERVICE

(Please do not come to the surgery to request an appointment)


WHEN BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT THE RECEPTION STAFF WILL ASK YOU THE REASON FOR REQUESTING AN APPOINTMENT

(This is to ensure that we can deal with your request accordingly and in a timely manner, this only needs to be a brief outline of the reason)


WE WILL BE CARRYING OUT CONSULTATIONS BY TELEPHONE OR VIDEO LINK WHERE APPROPRIATE

(There is still capacity to see patients for face to face consultations at the surgery)


ALL OUR CLINICIANS WILL BE WEARING PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) WHEN YOU ARE SEEN IN THE SURGERY
(To limit the number of patients in the surgery and enable us to maintain social distancing, please only attend your own appointment, unless agreed with one of our clinicians)


ALL PRESCRIPTIONS WILL NOW ONLY BE ISSUED ELECTRONICALLY & SENT TO YOUR NOMINATED PHARMACY

(Please do not come in to the surgery to request or collect a paper prescription. If you have not yet registered a nominated pharmacy please contact your local pharmacist)


THE PRACTICE WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE PROCESSES IN PLACE TO ENSURE CHILDHOOD IMMUNISATIONS AND OTHER ESSENTIAL CARE CONTINUES

(This includes childhood immunisations and health screening such as cervical smears)


IF YOU SUSPECT YOU MAY HAVE BEEN INFECTED WITH CORONAVIRUS OR HAVE SYMPTOMS OF COVID 19


PLEASE AVOID COMING INTO THE SURGERIES

This will avoid putting our patients and staff at risk and reduce the risk of spreading the disease.


The current Government advice is that if you develop a

new continuous cough, high temperature or a loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste it is advised you should self isolate at home for 7 days from the onset of your symptoms and arrange a COVID 19 test (No matter how mild your symptoms are) and your entire household MUST self isolate for 14 days.


If a member or your household develops any of the above symptoms you and your entire household MUST self isolate for 14 days.


If your symptoms worsen during this period please go online to NHS 111

(Only ring 111 if you are unable to use the online service)


If you or a member of your household develop symptoms of COVID 19 you should arrange a free test by following this link or by clicking on the tab above.


You may also be contacted by the government Track & Trace Service if you are identified as having come in to contact with someone with a confirmed case of

COVID 19 and advised to self isolate.
